“Tom, I wanted to thank you for facilitating getting Kodi to Cornell. Kodi was throwing up, and my local vet thru an Ultrasound, diagnosed severe Pancreatitis. When I brought him to Cornell Stamford, they were terrific. They admitted him and during his two days stay both the Dr.’s and the Techs called me twice every day to provide updates on his treatment. and condition. This really put my mind at ease. I would NEVER consider going anywhere else for advanced treatment. As a side note, some years ago, Dr. Morgan performed a miracle surgery on my first Lab, Jax. His story is on the CUVS website.”

“When our 12 year old German Shorthaired Pointer was diagnosed with oral cancer, Tom got us an appointment with Cornell in Stamford, CT the following week. We saw Dr. Lindsay Thaleim and she confirmed the diagnosis and provided a treatment plan with several options. We chose to go with the lesser invasive of the options and she worked with us on providing a melanoma vaccine. Brina lived a happy, good quality life for another 2.5 years. We are very grateful for the experience we had with Cornell.“

“At Tom’s insistence, I took my young Lab Kimber to Cornell Stamford, as she was experiencing Gastrointestinal Issues. The entire staff was excellent, and took the time to come out and keep me informed every step of the way. I followed all of their recommendations and thankfully the issues cleared up’ within a few days. It was a great call, and am glad I followed Tom’s recommendation.”

“My experience at Cornell Stamford has been wonderful. The Vets, techs, nurses, and secretaries have always shown professionalism, kindness, honesty and time. When your beloved dog is sick, the only peace of mind you have is knowing you are placing them with the most capable people. I am beyond grateful for the dedicated staff at Cornell for being the best, and taking the best care of my boy Lincoln. They have given us many more days together.”

“Back in 2021, Hudson Valley and Rock Tavern NAVHDA chapters committed to help Tom raise money and awareness for canine cancer given his vision. At that time, I had no idea that my dog, Dutchess, who I’d been working hard training for NAVHDA’s Invitational that fall, was actually battling cancer herself. I recall my local vet had been monitoring a growth, and I’d brought her in for a routine follow up exam. The exam showed a new growth that was extremely aggressive. I reached out to Tom, who made a call to Cornell Veterinary Hospital and got me in right away. This was during the Covid peak where you brought the dogs in, and the assistants took them from you and the veterinarian doctors would then call you with their findings. So I dropped off my special girl, and said some prayers. They did the work up and identified multiple cancerous growths – both mammary cancer and suspected cancer in her dew claw. What I really liked about Cornell is they assembled a team similar to a typical hospital with oncologist, surgeon and other specialists, which is much different model than any local vet office could replicate, so I knew I was in the best place for my sick girl. I knew I wanted to proceed and give Dutchess the best chance to survive, but now I had a secondary quandary as to when to do the surgery. The Invitational test was less than 4 weeks away and I had plans of hunting her after her test out in North Dakota. I decided to proceed with the surgery and then decide whether or not to pull her from the test. Well, she initially looked like Frankenstein with her shaved belly and removal of dew claw tumor, but she bounced back so quickly, it was truly a miracle. I credit Tom for making the connection at Cornell and the incredible doctors. They were truly the best of the best. Fast forward, I was able to run Dutchess in the Invitational test. Her field work was exceptional as she slammed her points, honored her brace mate, but unfortunately she did not pass as I felt she simply ran out of steam when she got to the 100 yard blind crossing. She’s certainly my champ though to be able to compete after all she went through. And now 4 years later, she’s alive and well, and soon will be turning 12 years old. A true miracle and why I am such a strong supporter of raising money for canine cancer.”

“A couple years ago I had a young Lab puppy from my litter, that developed Cysts around both eyes. My local Vet examined him and suggested surgery to remove the Cysts. After hearing that, I wanted a second opinion for such a young pup, so I called Tom. He immediately suggested Cornell and Dr. Wynne, an Ophthalmologist. Problem was, I was going to England …………now what? Well, not only did we get an appointment with Dr. Wynne, Tom and Judy took Finn while my wife and I were in England, and Tom took him to Cornell for his appointment. Dr. Wynne called me while I was in England, told me what she found and recommended we do NOTHING, as the Cysts would disappear on their own in a few weeks, which they did. Tom, Cornell, and Dr. Wynne were life savers not having to put my pup thru unnecessary surgery.”
